OUT! Caught. Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge to mid on, by Amir. And that's that, Wood tries to pull but completely mis-times it. Amir takes a good two-handed catch diving at mid-on. A pretty miserable collapse in the end from England. Conditions for batting weren't easy but Cook aside none of the English batsmen put up a really dogged fight for their wicket. Once again the middle order proved vulnerable. Having said that, Pakistan bowled well. They stuck to their game plan and pitched the ball up, getting good sideways movement and Abbas and Hasan Ali in particular bowled with real skill. It will be interesting to see how england fare with the ball this evening, you would back them to take a wicket or two before close of play tonight.
FOUR! Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, past long off for 4 runs, fielded by Ali, mis-fielded by Amir.
Mohammad Abbas to James Anderson. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
OUT! L.B.W. Mohammad Abbas to Stuart Broad. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, hit pad to. Nine down! Broad didn't last long. Abbas comes round the wicket and this was full, nipped back and hits him flush on the front pad. Rod Tucker puts up his finger and Broad doesn't hang around to consider reviewing.
Mohammad Abbas to Stuart Broad. Length ball, outside off stump down the track defending, to cover for no runs, fielded by Azam.
OUT! Caught. Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to second slip, by Shafiq. Gone! The very next ball. Again it's full and perhaps buoyed by his boundary the previous ball, Bess goes after this one but doesn't get over it and nicks it to second slip. Safe hands again from Shafiq.
FOUR! Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot flick, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Nice shot from the debutant! His first test run is soon followed by his first test boundary, worked away nicely off his legs through mid-wicket.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Hasan Ali to Dom Bess. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, to backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Abbas.

Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, thick edge to point for 1 run, run save by ul-Haq.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot cutting, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.

Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot working, to square leg for no runs, fielded by Ashraf.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to silly mid off for no runs, fielded by Abbas.
Mohammad Abbas to Mark Wood. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, to cover for 1 run, fielded by ul-Haq.
Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Out-swinging half volley, middle stump on the back foot pushing, to extra cover for 1 run, shy attempt by Azam.
Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Out-swinging length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the back foot defending, hit pad past third man for 4 runs.
Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Length ball, off stump on the back foot pushing, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Azam.
Hasan Ali to Mark Wood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
OUT! Caught. Hasan Ali to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge to second slip, by Shafiq. And now Buttler goes! Excellent catch by Asad Shafiq at second slip. Buttler went hard at that and it really flew at him. It wasn't really full enough to drive and I'm sure there will be questions over Buttler's shot selection given the situation. England find themselves in trouble having opted to bat on the first day of the summer.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Azam.
OUT! L.B.W. NOT OUT changed by umpire to OUT after REFERRAL. Mohammad Abbas to Ben Stokes. Length ball, to leg on the back foot working, hit pad to short leg, fielded by Abbas. Abbas has his second and Stokes is gone! Excellent review by Sarfraz. This was all about whether or not it had pitched in line, it was always crashing into the stumps. Stokes went back and the ball didn't really get up. In real time it looked like it had pitched outside leg and you can understand Rod Tucker's decision. Slowed down you can see the ball did just pitch in line with leg stump, remember there's no umpire's call on pitching, and it's three reds on Hawk-Eye.
Mohammad Abbas to Ben Stokes. Length ball, off stump down the track defending, to mid off for no runs, fielded by Ali.
Mohammad Abbas to Ben Stokes. Length ball, to leg on the back foot pushing, to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Ashraf.
OUT! Caught. Mark Wood to Mohammad Abbas. Short, outside off stump on the back foot Fended, Gloved to wicketkeeper, by Bairstow. The short ball tactic to Abbas has worked for Wood! Third bouncer in a row, and he cannot evade it this time. Angled into the number eleven, and it kept following him as it nipped back off the seam. Abbas couldn't withdraw the hands in time, and he punched it up for Bairstow to snaffle behind the stumps.
Pakistan end with a healthy first innings lead of 179. England have some great batting conditions to wittle that down. They need a confident start though. The Pakistan bowlers will have their tails up.
Mark Wood to Mohammad Abbas. Short, outside off stump swayed away, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Bairstow.

Stuart Broad to Mohammad Amir. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot working, to short mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Anderson.
FOUR! Stuart Broad to Mohammad Amir. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past long on for 4 runs. The Pakistan tail are playing their shots! Amir clears the front leg, gets it in the slot, and bunts Broad back over his head. Brutal stuff.

FOUR! Stuart Broad to Mohammad Abbas. Short, outside off stump backing away pulling, well timed in the air under control to long on for 1 run. Abbas swipes a bouncer away very awkwardly, but it brings up the first boundary of the day. Didn't look comfortable at all, but he manages to club the ball over mid on, and it trickles into the rope.
Stuart Broad to Mohammad Abbas. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, to backward point for no runs, fielded by Bess, fielded by Buttler.
Mark Wood to Mohammad Amir. Length ball, off stump on the back foot glancing, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Bairstow.

Mark Wood to Mohammad Abbas. Length ball, outside off stump no foot movement defending, to short leg for no runs, fielded by Root.
Dom Bess to Mohammad Amir. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to short leg for no runs, fielded by Cook. And that's stumps. Another good day's work for Pakistan who have compiled a lead of 166 with two wickets in hand. Babar Azam can go away and rest his arm and he may well come back out tomorrow when a wicket falls. England bowled better than they did yesterday but ultimately their catching really let them down. On four or five occasions the bowlers created chances that went to ground proving costly for Joe Root's side. Join us again tomorrow when England will try and fight their way back into this match. That's all for today, goodnight.
Dom Bess to Mohammad Amir. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to cover for no runs, fielded by Buttler.
OUT! Bowled. Mohammad Amir to Dom Bess. Length ball, to leg on the front foot pushing, missed to. An embarrasing performance from England this morning as they lose their fourth wicket and it concludes their innings. It took just 27 minutes and 25 deliveries with both Abbas and Amir taking two wickets a piece. They bowled excellently, to Pakistan's credit and they now require just 64 runs for victory in this first Test match at Lord's. England simply haven't been up to scratch and this morning they showed a lack of fight and resolve you would expect from a Test side, even it's tail order. Pakistan will be out to bat shortly and could have this match wrapped up inside the morning session on the fourth day here.
Mohammad Abbas to James Anderson. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to point for no runs.
Mohammad Abbas to James Anderson. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, inside edge to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Ashraf.
OUT! Caught. Mohammad Abbas to Stuart Broad. Back of a length, to leg on the front foot pushing, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ahmed. Poor cricket from Broad and England lose another, their third in just over two overs. A well angled delivery from Abbas was once again enough to tempt Broad into the shot and another outside edge takes the ball through to the keeper. Abbas picks up his fourth wicket in what has been a very impressive bowling performance from him this innings. England are failing to show any resolve this morning and the outcome of this match is looking almost certain now.
Mohammad Abbas to Stuart Broad. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to point for no runs, fielded by ul-Haq.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot pushing, to mid on for 1 run, fielded by Ali.
Mohammad Abbas to Dom Bess. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, inside edge to silly point for no runs, fielded by Sohail.
OUT! Caught. Mohammad Amir to Mark Wood. Length ball, to leg on the front foot defending, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by Ahmed. Pakistan have a second as Amir bowls a beauty with the new ball. It's on the perfect line and a scrambled seam leaves Wood playing at the ball expecting the in-swing which never arrived. He feathered an edge through to the keeper and he's on his way. England now eight down and crumbling fast this morning.
Mohammad Amir to Mark Wood. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Mohammad Amir to Mark Wood. In-swinging length ball, off stump on the front foot, shoulders arms to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
NEW BALL. Mohammad Amir to Mark Wood. In-swinging length ball, to leg on the front foot defending, to extra cover for no runs, fielded by Sohail.

Mohammad Abbas to Mark Wood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, shoulders arms to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Mohammad Abbas to Mark Wood. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
FOUR! Mohammad Abbas to Mark Wood. Reverse Swing-In half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. A delightful stroke from Wood from just his second delivery faced. It was slightly overpitched from Abbas and Wood crunched it through the covers with a wonderful drive.
Mohammad Abbas to Mark Wood. Reverse Swing-In back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot defending, to point for no runs, fielded by ul-Haq.
OUT! L.B.W. Verified by umpire after REFERRAL. Mohammad Abbas to Jos Buttler. Reverse Swing-In length ball, off stump on the front foot pushing, hit pad to. A horror start for England as Buttler falls from just the eigth delivery of the day. Abbas gets his third LBW of the innings, each as important as the rest, this time trapping the dangerous Buttler for 67. Buttler reviewed the decision but that always looked fairly plumb and it was just clipping the top of middle stump. Pakistan will have their tails up now, the new ball is available in four deliveries time.
Mohammad Abbas to Jos Buttler. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Hasan Ali to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, thick edge to third man for 1 run, fielded by Abbas.
Hasan Ali to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to mid off for no runs, fielded by Shafiq.

Hasan Ali to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to silly mid off for no runs, fielded by Ali.
Hasan Ali to Jos Buttler. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to silly mid on for no runs, fielded by Azam.
FOUR! Mohammad Amir to Dom Bess. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past long off for 4 runs. Super way for Dom Bess to finish a wonderful couple of hours for him and England. He has played a few cracking cover drives, and pulls out another here. Dissects the infield and it races away.
Stumps on day three, and Pakistan have won the day's play yet again. The hosts have finally won a session, though! Wicketless in the evening, and the current stand is at 125. In a weird way the pressure was off when Bess and Jos Buttler came to the crease. They played with freedom, and dispatched any loose deliveries from a tiring attack. It looked as though this game would be done and dusted today, but England have managed to drag themselves to a lead of 56 runs. They still have four wickets intact to add to that tomorrow, and really cause some panic in the Pakistan dressing room. The visitors still in the driving seat, but it isn't as comfortable as it was a few hours ago.
What will day four bring us?
Good morning and welcome back to day four of this opening Test match between England and Pakistan here at Lord's. We saw Pakistan run riot over England in the first two session of yesterday's play, at 111-6 it was feasable we could've seen an innings victory here. A great effort between Bess and Buttler was to follow though and an unbeaten 125-run partnership has given England a slim chance in this match yet. The new ball is due in a couple of overs and the conditions are looking overcast today, Pakistan will be looking for a powerful start to wrap up this Test match.
Mohammad Amir to Dom Bess. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
Mohammad Amir to Dom Bess. Seaming away length ball, middle stump on the front foot driving, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.

Mohammad Amir to Dom Bess. Length ball, to leg on the front foot, shoulders arms to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Ahmed.
FOUR! Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break full toss, to leg on the front foot flick, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Four more for Sohail who flicks Bess through mid-wicket and wraps up the match in the process. Pakistan have claimed a nine-wicket victory here and it has been fully deserved. They were the better side right from the off here at Lord's and England haven't been able to match them throughout. Sohail finishes on an unbeaten 39 from just 32 deliveries as Pakistan had no problems chasing down this measely target set for them by England. Pakistan's bowling was good throughout, Abbas claiming eight wickets in all as England lacked the discipline needed to create a battle between the two sides. Pakistan had a very solid first innings in which Azam finally found some form, that was before he was forced off with an injury, but good contributions all round saw them put themselves in a very commanding position going into England's second innings. Root once again made 50 but couldn't convert it into a century as the England innings crumbled, only to be saved by an impressive seventh wicket partnership between Buttler and Bess. It was far from enough though and Pakistan go home happy, taking a 1-0 lead into the second and final Test match of the series at Headingley.

SIX! Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break full toss, off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. A full-toss from Bess and Sohail gets down to it nicely and slog-sweeps the ball all the way for six over mid-wicket. Lovely stroke.

Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break full toss, off stump down the track driving, to mid off for no runs, fielded by Root.
FOUR! Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Bess is just lacking the consistency of a Test match bowler in this spell, this time the half-volley is driven through the covers with great intent from Sohail who picks up his fifth boundary.
Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Bairstow.
Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Bairstow.
FOUR! Dom Bess to Haris Sohail. Off break full toss, off stump on the front foot pushing, well timed past long on for 4 runs. Too full from Bess and Sohail pushes at the ball and sends it running back down the ground for four. These two are disciplining themselves well and keeping the scoreboard ticking over.
