FOUR! Mark Wood to Heino Kuhn. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep cover for 4 runs. Even with the rain being on the outfield this has flown to the rope. Off the back foot and punched through the covers with the pace of the ball helping.

APPEAL! Verified by umpire after REFERRAL. Ben Stokes to Hashim Amla. Seaming in length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, inside edge for no runs, appeal made for L.B.W. Great decision from Simon Fry. Amla is on the front foot but a hint of movement back into him beat the bat, or so England thought. After seeing the replay there is a small inside edge just before the ball hits the pad. Even without that the ball hit Amla outside the line and would only be clipping the stumps. Not a good review from England.

  • 18.4

FOUR! Ben Stokes to Hashim Amla. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, well timed past deep backward point for 4 runs. Flown off the bat as Amla uses the pace and width on offer. Stokes hasn't quite got his line spot on since coming into the attack.

Well surprisingly the players are going to go off with the rain sweeping through. It doesn't look very heavy so they should be back on soon.

James Anderson c Quinton de Kock b Duanne Olivier 0 (1)

OUT! Caught. Duanne Olivier to James Anderson. Short, down leg side on the back foot Steer, outside edge to wicketkeeper, by de Kock.

South Africa square up the series. Jimmy comes out and feathers a catch through to the keeper to give South Africa victory by a huge 340 runs. The visitors have been the better team in all aspects and they thoroughly deserved the win inside four days. It was the bowlers today who were outstanding and from ball one England were troubled by Vernon Philander (3-24) and Morne Morkel, who was very good but went wicket-less.

England though still have the same problems with the top order and it might be something that they look at going into the next Test at The Oval along with the batting collapses they keep having. The series has now sprung to life and all eyes will be on the match on Thursday to see if England make changes or they stick with the same team.
