  • These two nations have met 12 times previously in T20 Internationals; with both sides claiming six victories each so far.
  • England have not lost back to back T20s on home soil since 2013 (v Aus and NZ), the only other time they lost consecutive matches on their own patch was a three-game run between 2006 and 2007.

  • The first match of this series saw Virat Kohli become only the fourth man ever to reach 2,000 runs in T20I cricket (Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum & Shoaib Malik); his average of 28.4 against England however is his worst against any nation he has faced more than twice.
  • Eoin Morgan (130) is the only player to have scored 100+ T20I runs at Sophia Gardens, his three innings have seen him score 38*, 18* and 74.
  • Chris Jordan (37) needs three wickets to take Jade Dernbach's (39) spot as England's third-highest wicket-taker in T20I cricket (Graeme Swann 51 and Stuart Broad 65), the Sussex man has the worst economy rate (8.8) of any England bowler to bowl 60+ overs in this format however.
  • Kuldeep Yadav took 5/24 in the first match of this series against England, the joint second-best figures by an India bowler (Chahal 6/25 v England in 2017).
