OUT! Caught. Tim Southee to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Slower ball short, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, to deep mid wicket, by Nicholls. A wicket on the final ball as he tries the same again, he doesn't quite get hold of all of it and Nicholls takes a really good catch in the deep diving low down. It leaves India on 280-8 from their 50 overs. A decent score on a pitch that isn't easy to score on, and one they will think they can defend with the bowling attack they have. Boult was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand with a very good performance, he restricted India from accelerating to early with the wickets he took and he allowed New Zealand's six bowlers to flex around him. The game is in the balance going into the second innings, there will need to be some good batting performances from one or two of the New Zealand top order to chase down this target.
SIX! Tim Southee to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Slower ball short, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. He follows it up with a six, Kumar is picking off these balls expertly and smashes that one deep into the crowd over mid-wicket.
FOUR! Tim Southee to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Slower ball short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled past fine leg for 4 runs. Four for Kumar who swings at a short ball and New Zealand have the fine-leg up. The ball takes the top edge and goes straight to fine-leg for four runs.

OUT! Caught. Tim Southee to Virat Kohli. Back of a length, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Boult. Kholi goes the next ball as he tries another but doesn't get hold of it this time. He doesn't finish the innings not out but he has propelled his team to a good score. He's mistimed the shot from Southee's delivery and Boult has taken a simple catch at deep long-on.
SIX! Tim Southee to Virat Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs. You can't hit a six much classier than that. He has smashed the ball back down the ground with ease, it's a great shot from a decent delivery.
SIX! Adam Milne to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Short, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs. Kumar's managed to get that one pretty well and he's slogged another short ball back down the ground and this time it goes for six over the head of Southee. India posting a pretty decent score here on a slow track.

FOUR! Adam Milne to Virat Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. That's the shot of a player in form, he's picked it up and flicked it off of his legs to mid-wicket, almost for a maximum and it lands just short for a one-bounce four.
Adam Milne to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot dropped, to silly mid off for 1 run, shy attempt by Milne.
FOUR! Adam Milne to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control past deep cover for 4 runs. Kumar is picking up where Pandya left off, a slog into the off-side and into the vacant area at deep cover. He's timed it well enough for it to reach the ropes.

OUT! Caught. Trent Boult to Hardik Pandya. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, top edge in the air uncontrolled to long off, by Williamson. A wicket and it's Boult's fourth of the day, he continues his good spell picking up the wicket of the dangerous looking Pandya as he slogs the ball towards the boundary but it comes over the top edge and is sent up a long way into the air. There's multiple fielder's in with a chance of taking the catch but Williamson called it early, running back from mid-off, and takes a very good catch over his shoulder to dismiss Pandya.
Trent Boult to Virat Kohli. Yorker, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, to third man for 1 run, fielded by Southee.
FOUR! Trent Boult to Virat Kohli. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, well timed in the air under control past deep cover for 4 runs. Four more for Kholi who presses on after his 100. He's lifted that beautifully over the infield and to the cover boundary for four runs. Perfect timing from the captain.
FOUR! Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Henry Nicholls. Back of a length, down leg side on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Nicholls will enjoy that strike rate! He's come in and smashed a four first ball to finish off the match. A big swing into the leg-side. New Zealand have won the match and what an impressive effort it has been from Taylor and Latham, a 200 parternship took them all the way to victory, bar one run, and swung the game around from a position where India would have been confident of victory. An excellent effort from the batters there, I can't help but feel the India's suffered from having a five man attack. With the partnership building on Kholi resorted to pace to try break it, but it left four overs of spin to be bowled in the final nine. Not something the Indian captain will have enjoyed trying to juggle. It's all credit to the New Zealand batsman though, these two showed a few chances early doors but settled in quickly and rotated strike expertly. It puts them 1-0 up in the three game series and makes things a whole lot more exciting given India will have been favourites to sweep this series. The Indian pacers were good early doors and took big wickets, similarly to the New Zealanders who did the same at the start of their innings, but after that it was the partnership that carried them to victory. Kholi's solo effort in the first innings was equally as impressive, on his 200th ODI appearance, but he had nobody to bat alongside him the way these two did. A brilliant performance from New Zealand in a game where India weren't at their best, but weren't massively under-par either. We will see you next time for the second ODI on Wednesday in Pune.
OUT! Caught. Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Ross Taylor. Half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed to extra cover, by Chahal. What a shame for the two here, as they tried to get Taylor to his 100 while securing the victory. Unfortunately Taylor has smashed it straight at Chahal in the covers and he's out, scores are still level. A fantastic 200 parternship from the batsman there is brought to an end.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Tom Latham. Length ball, down leg side on the front foot working, to deep backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Jadhav. Latham gets to 100. What a century, he has been pretty much flawless in this run chase and alongside taylor they have guided New Zealand excellently to what now is expected to be a victory against a strong Indian side. Well played to both him and Taylor.

SIX! Jasprit Bumrah to Tom Latham. Slower length ball, down leg side on the front foot Slog, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Latham moves onto 99 with a flick off the legs which lands deep into the crowd, six runs and it moves India to within 13. Great shot and it leaves him one a way from a fantastic century.

FOUR! Jasprit Bumrah to Ross Taylor. Short, wide outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed past deep square leg for 4 runs, mis-fielded by Yadav. Back to back boundaries for Taylor who also moves near to his 90's. It's a good shot into the off-side and it just about beats the fielder on the ropes.
FOUR! Jasprit Bumrah to Ross Taylor. Length ball, outside off stump down the track Slog, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Four for Taylor who comes down the ground and slogs into the open mid-wicket region. It's an easy four for New Zealand and gets their target below one a ball.

FOUR! Kuldeep Yadav to Tom Latham. Chinaman half volley, outside off stump on the front foot reverse sweeping, well timed past third man for 4 runs. A reverse sweep again, an impecable show of the sweep shot from him here and it's another four down to third-man that moves Latham into the 90's and New Zealand closer to their target.
