  • 19.6

Tim Southee to Shreyas Iyer. Slower ball back of a length, wide outside off stump moves in front pulling, mis-timed to silly point for 1 run, fielded by Southee.

India had the better of the first ten, New Zealand did for the second ten. It means that this total is around par. Things were looking good for the visitors when Rahul and Rohit got going. The Indian captain had to retire because of a calf injury unfortunately, and won't take to the field for the second half of the game. Tim Southee had another stinker with the ball. He hasn't had a great series. Bennett and Kuggeleijn stood out for the Kiwis, though. It should be a great chase coming up, as it could go either way. Surely not another super over?

  • End of Over 20
Over 20. 13 runs. Bowler: Shardul Thakur. New Zealand: 156/9 (rr 7.80)
  • 19.6

Shardul Thakur to Ish Sodhi. Half volley, outside off stump Deep in crease driving, thick edge to third man for 1 run, fielded by Dube.

Ish Sodhi couldn't quite pull it off in the last over, so India sneak home to take the series 5-0. It was another one that the home side should've really won. At the halfway point in the chase, they were cruising. Once the partnership between Tim Seifert and Ross Taylor was broken, the Kiwis collapsed. Japsrit Bumrah was fantastic, in particular. Huge credit to India, they have held their nerve in the last three games to restrict the hosts and close out the match. It could've been 3-2 to New Zealand, but the quality of India came up trumps.

Both sides will now turn their attention to the fifty over format, which begins on Wednesday.
