  • Ireland defeated West Indies by nine wickets when they last met in a men’s T20I game (21 October 2022 at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup); they will be aiming for consecutive wins against them for the first time in the history of the format.
  • Ireland have won only one of their last six men’s T20Is (L5) – a 10-run victory against South Africa (29 September 2024); they’ve lost their only match since then (23 February 2025 v Zimbabwe) and will be looking to avoid starting a calendar year in the format with consecutive defeats for the first time since 2021.
  • West Indies have won only one of their last 12 men’s T20Is (L11) – a five-wicket victory against England (16 November 2024); they have lost each of their six matches since then, a seventh consecutive defeat in this game would be their outright longest losing run in the history of the format (also L6 from March to August in 2019).
  • Ireland lost their most recent men’s T20I at Bready Cricket Club against a fellow Test playing country (4 September 2021 v Zimbabwe); they had won three of their four such fixtures prior to that span (L1).
  • West Indies have scored 71% of their runs from boundaries during the powerplay in men’s T20Is since the beginning of 2024, the second-best rate of any Test playing country in that time (Australia – 77%); in fact, their 83 sixes during this period is 13 more than any other team.
  • Batters have played and missed on 20.7% of Ireland’s balls bowled during the powerplay in men’s T20Is since the beginning of 2024, the second highest rate of any Test playing country in that time (New Zealand – 20.9%); although, they’ve taken just three wickets via this method.
  • Rovman Powell (1,873) is 27 away from surpassing Chris Gayle (1,899) as the second all-time leading run scorer for West Indies in men’s T20Is (Nicholas Pooran – 2,275); he scored 79* in his most recent T20I innings (10 June 2025 v England) and will be aiming for 50+ scores in back-to-back innings in the format for the first time in his career.
  • Paul Stirling (Ireland) scored 66* in his most recent T20I innings against West Indies (21 October 2022), his second 50+ score against them across his last four innings in the format (95 – 15 January 2020); although, this is set to be his first meeting against them in Ireland.
  • Shai Hope has lost all three of his men’s T20Is as captain of West Indies; amongst Test playing countries only Thisara Perera (L9 for Sri Lanka) and Mohammad Rizwan (L4 for Pakistan) have made more appearances as captain and not registered a win in the history of the format.
  • Mark Adair has taken 31% of Ireland’s wickets in men’s T20Is since the beginning of 2024, the best rate of any player for a Test playing country in that time (min. 10 overs bowled); he’s taken 25 wickets at a strike rate of 13.1 across all his 14 innings during this period, recording at least one wicket in each of those innings.
