ISL vs KAR Dream11 prediction Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings, PSL 2023 Islamabad United will take on Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League or PSL 2023 at Rawalpindi's Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday (March 3). Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings will start at 7:30 PM IST.

PSL 2023: Most runs | Most wickets | Most sixes | Most fours | Highest strike rate | Best bowling economy

Both franchises come into the match losing their last game. Islamabad suffered a morale-sapping defeat of 110 runs but will take comfort from the fact that they have kept themselves third on the table with six points (three wins) in five games.

Karachi Kings, on the other hand, are down at fifth with just four points in seven games, which makes a win in this game crucial for them if they want to finish among the top three.

This is also the second match between the franchises in the double round-robin format with Islamabad United taking the last encounter by four wickets on February 16.

ISL vs KAR injury update, key players

Islamabad United injury update, key players in PSL 2023

Islamabad United have a few injury concerns heading into the game as English pacer Tymal Mills, who was set to join the franchise, confirmed his unavailability due to an injury. There's no update on Fazalhaq Farooqi's fitness too as the Afghan pacer didn't play the last game after taking three wickets in the match before.

However, batter Colin Munro, who injured his thumb during the last game, has been declared fit to play.

Alex Hales likely to play

Islamabad United will also have a new addition to the squad as English opener Alex Hales has decided to skip England vs Bangladesh series to play ISL for the remainder of the season.

Hales may walk into the line-up too with Rassie van Der Dussen misfiring in the last two games with innings of 1 and 3 while openers Colin Munro and Rahmanullah Gurbaz couldn't make a significant contribution as well.

Munro and Gurbaz may still keep their spots as they have succeeded in scoring runs quickly at the top. Gurbaz, who scored 8 and 23 in the last two innings, shot 31-ball 62 while replacing Paul Stirling at the top.

Shadab Khan's form with bat is a concern

Some major concerns remain over form of skipper Shadab Khan, who has scored 20 runs in his last four innings while representing middle-order. The skipper, however, has taken five wickets in last three games. However, the onus of scoring runs in the middle-order has fell on Azam Khan, who scored 97* against Quetta two innings ago.

Asif Ali scored a 24-ball 42 two innings ago and also scored an impactful 13-ball 29 before that as well; doing justice to the finisher's role but his consistency remains a concern.

Tom Curran and Faheem Ashraf are handy pinch-hitters down the order for the side as well but much of the focus remains on their bowling.

Ashraf has just picked two wickets in five games as skipper Shadab has been less reliant on him. Curran, on the other hand, has picked six wickets in four games while conceding runs at an economy of 8.63.

Among bowlers, pacer Hasan Ali's addition to the playing 11 has sorted issues as the senior pacer has taken seven wickets in three games. Rumman Raees has four wickets in three games as well.
It's uncertain if Afghan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi will play but was a crucial addition to the team with Gurbaz as he took three wickets in his first outing before missing the last game.

Spinner Abrar Ahmed was expected to play a crucial role but he went for 50 runs in the last game. He has three wickets to his name in three games.

Karachi Kings injury update, key players

In an important injury update, senior pacer Mohammad Amir returned to Karachi Kings bowling line-up against Peshawar Zalmi and picked four wickets, albeit for the losing cause. He is now the side's top wicket-taker with eight scalps.

Karachi trying to cope without James Vince

Losing English opener James Vince to international duty has added to Karachi Kings' opening combination worries as the Englishman clicked well with Matthew Wade at the top. Wade scored 53 in the last game but his new opening partner Adam Rossington scored just 15 runs off 8 deliveries.

Tayyab Tahir, who scored 65 on Karachi debut after replacing Haider Ali, is expected to keep hi spot despite scoring just six runs in the last game.

Veteran batter Shoaib Malik, however, has lost form with 34 runs in his last four innings after scoring two half-centuries earlier in the season. Malik wasn't utilised as a bowler in the last game but remains an option as he picked four wickets as well.

Skipper Imad Wasim leads Karachi with bat and ball

Skipper Imad Wasim is the team's highest run scorer with 237 runs in seven outings, including two half-centuries. His last fifty came against Zalmi in a successful run-chase. Wasim has also taken

The captain himself has been the most impactful player of the side with 180 runs in six games and has picked seven wickets as well with the new ball.

Ben Cutting provides further firepower down the order but he is yet to make a significant contribution and has not earned the trust of the captain with the ball.

Among bowlers, Aamer Yamin and Akif Javed are crucial members with Amir leading the pace battery. However, Yamin has taken five wickets this PSL but went wicketless in the last three games while Javed went for plenty in the last game but has six wickets to his name in four spells.

South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi is the most economical bowler in PSL and has taken four wickets in two matches.

Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings pitch report ISL vs KAR

In the sole match played in PSL at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium so far, the pitch provided swing to the bowlers with the new ball but it has plenty of runs on the offer once the seam is gone.

However, pacers may still find value in the pitch if they keep the batters guessing with their pace variations. The last game saw 370 runs scored on the pitch with little support on the offer for spinners.
