ISL vs LAH injury update, key players
Islamabad United injury update, key players in PSL 2023
There's no update on Zeeshan Zameer's return from injury but the side has no fresh injury concern reported ahead of the tie.
Colin Munro holds key in top-order
Colin Munro has been in good touch off late for Islamabad with 170 runs in five games, including knocks 40 and 63 in the last two innings since being promoted to No. 3 with Alex Hales joining the side.
The side may consider sending Munro back to the opening spot as Hales has disappointed in his last two outings by accumulating just 13 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, on the other end, wasted another good start as he got out after scoring 25 runs off 14 balls.
Skipper Shadab Khan returns to form with the bat
Skipper Shadab Khan finally got some runs under his bat as he scored 25-ball 44 against Multan in a high-scoring chase at No. 4. Sum of his runs in PSL before this knock stood at 28 runs in five innings.
The captain also ended his wicketless run in two games with two wickets against Multan and proved economical when other bowlers went for runs.
At No. 5 Azam Khan remains the undisputed star in the middle-order as the wicketkeeper batter has scored 236 runs in eight games while striking at the rate of 180-plus.
Faheem Ashraf in purple patch
Faheem Ashraf, meanwhile, has made the No. 6 position his own with 131 runs scored in the last three innings, including a half century in the last innings, while batting at a strike rate above 160. His form came at a time when Asif Ali remain inconsistent. Asif Ali is still expected to keep his place in the 11 given his hard-hitting prowess.
Ashraf, meanwhile has also delivered five wickets in the last three games, making him further important for the side.
Fazalhaq Farooqi leads the charge with new ball
Fazalhaq Farooqi is expected to lead the charge with the new ball as the Afghan bowler has been decently effective since replacing Tom Curran, the team's highest-wicket taker with eight wickets, in the line-up. Farooqi was included in the team after Curran proved ineffective and costly.
Farooqi took six wickets in two games ever since and then delivered an economical 0/32 spell against Multan in the last game.
However, there is concern regarding the forms of Rumman Raees and Mohammad Wasim, who have proved costly off late while failing to pick enough wickets. Hasan Ali is expected to return to the line-up and will replace either of the two.

Lahore Qalandars injury update, key players
Table toppers Lahore Qalandars have no injury concerns for this game. However, their confidence is certainly dented after Peshawar Zalmi humbled them with a 35-run defeat two days ago.
Lahore Qalandars' top-order concerns
The team's star opener and leading run-scorer Fakhar Zaman has been misfiring with the PSL 2023 entering crucial stages. The southpaw, who has scored two half-centuries and 17 sixes this PSL, has scored just 15 runs in his last three innings.
At the same time, his opening partner Mirza Tahir Baig was also dropped from the team against Peshawar after the young batter managed 45 runs in his last four outings. However, his replacement Shawaiz Irfan could only score a duck, adding to Qalandars' headache.
At No. 3 Shafique Abdullah has been in good touch but with the added pressure, the youngster managed just seven runs in the last game. However, it will be too early to judge his form as the batter has managed 190 runs in the last five innings.
At No. 4 Sam Billings has been blowing hot and cold with a half-century to his name but has scored just two runs, including a duck against Peshawar, out of his last three outings.
Shaheen Afridi and Hussain Talat found form with bat
Domestic all-rounder Hussain Talat finally played his best knock (63) in PSL after strings of negligible contribution and could hold the key for the franchise in the playoffs.
Shaheen Aridi also scored a half-century after promoting himself up the order at No.6. The skipper scored 36-ball 52 but his decision came under the scanner as an in-form Sikandar Raza came out to bat too late in the chase.
Raza has been in fine form off late as he has been scoring runs at an alarming strike rate of 195.05 and scored a memorable match-winning 34-ball 71 against Quetta Gladiators recently. David Wiese and Rashid Khan provide further pinch-hitting depth to Qalandars.
Shaheen Afridi end wicketless run with 4-for
Shaheen Afridi also ended his three-match wicketless run in the game with a four-wicket spell against his favourite opponents as he also took a 5/40 against Peshawar Zalmi earlier in the tournament. The skipper is now second in the Green cap race with 14 wickets.
Hari Rauf is also going about his business well as he took 2/35 in his last spell; taking his tally to seven wickets in last four games. He is now the third-highest wicket-taker of the franchise as well with 10 wickets in eight games.
The senior pacers' understudy Zaman Khan has been a regular face among wicket-takers as well with eight wickets in as many games but has often proved expensive with an economy rate of 11.94.
Young pacer Zaman Khan is the team's second-highest wicket-taker with seven scalps in as many games but has remained an understudy to the two senior pacers.
Rashid Khan takes 11 wickets in six games
Rashid Khan, however, has been the vital cog in the bowling lineup as the spinner took charge of spin bowling upon joining midway through the season and took 11 wickets in six games to be the second-highest wicket-taker for Qalandars and is also the highest-wicket-takers among spinners.
All-rounders Raza and David Wiese have proved expensive with the ball off late, especially playing at Pindi Cricket Stadium.
