ISL vs MUL injury update, key players
Islamabad United injury update, key players in PSL 2023
Islamabad United have no new reported injury concerns since Zeeshan Zameer's injury and have some of their top-order batters in great form heading into the crucial game.
Opener Colin Munro was asked to bat at No. 3 in place of misfiring Rassie van Der Dussen and the New Zealand batter made the position his own with a knock of 29-ball 63 post-recovery from a thumb injury.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who was dropped from the team after showing inconsistency, was out in the first over itself for a duck while Alex Hales couldn't make much of an impact with an innings of 12 runs. Hopes are still high of fireworks soon from the Englishman as he scored 16-ball 34 a match ago.
No luck for Shadab with the bat
Skipper Shadab Khan brought himself back to the Number four position after promoting Faheem Ashraf to the position for the last game.
The skipper failed with the bat yet again as he could only eight runs. Khan has now scored just 31 runs in seven games this PSL.
Ashraf, on ther other hand, continued his strong showing as he clobbered 31-ball 39 after scoring a quickfire 42 in as many deliveries as he played in the last game while showing the depth in Islamabad's batting order.
Azam Khan the run machine
Azam Khan has been the star of the team and is currently the leading run scorer of the franchise as well with 237 runs to his name in six innings while striking above a rate of 170.
Further in the order, Asif Ali has been largely inconsistent and has scored just 94 runs in six games.
Fazalhaq Farooqi arrives in style
The team's joint-highest wicket-taker with eight wickets, Tom Curran was dropped for the last game for leaking too many runs with Fazalhaq Farooqi replacing him.
The Afghan pacer made the most out of the granted opportunity with a spell of 3/25 while Faheem, who scored 39 earlier, took two wickets as well.
The team's senior pacer Hasan Ali couldn't pick a wicket in the last game and would look to change that against star-studded opponents. Rumman Raees continued to be among wickets with six wickets in five games.
Multan Sultans injury update, key players
Multan Sultans have no injury concern heading into the game but will like to see their two openers fire run in bulk again. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan, who is leading the most runs table, has played decent knocks of 29 and 30 but a bigger contribution is the expectation of him.
Opener Shan Massod has been getting a good start as well with knocks of 19 and 25 in the last game but failed to convert them into big knocks.
Multan middle-order not firing enough runs
Batting at No. 3, South African Rilee Roussouw's is also seeing a slump in form with poor showing in the last two outings. David Miller had a rough day too as he was out for just a solitary run but has shown glimpses of his brilliance before.
Kieron Pollard was drafted back in the line-up and the Caribbean batter got some runs under his belt with 28-ball 39 knock. He also returned to bowling, taking two wickets for 16 runs
Anwar Ali once again played a crucial slog over the knock of 12-ball 17 while Khushdil Shaw failed with the bat again, scoring just nine. Anwar bowled a crucial spell of 2/16 but the side's main source of wickets has been young express pacers.
Ihsanullah continues to pick wickets
20-year-old pacer Ihsanullah has increased his wicket-tally to 16 while Abbas Afridi catches on as well with 12 wickets as both bowlers have picked 28 wickets combined.
Among other bowlers in the team, spinner Usama Mir hasn't taken any wickets in the last two outings and seems to be stuck at nine wickets this season.

Islamabad United vs Multan Sultans pitch report ISL vs MUL
Rawalpindi's Pindi Stadium pitch is getting slower than before with pacers with variation are making batters hard to hit the ball around while spinners have started to feel comfortable on the pitch. Anything above 180 would be a task for a side to chase unless dew comes into play later on in the second innings.
