Among spinners, Muhammad Nawaz is the second-highest wicket-taker with six wickets but has been barely enough for the side, who lost four games on the trot.

There is further misery in batting with Martin Guptill going silent after scoring a century in his first match while Will Smeed looked in good touch but arrived to the team too late as they lost Jason Roy to national duty.

The root cause of their dismal run is down to their Pakistan batters, who have made sporadic contributions but none fired those winning knocks. Skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed scored 140-odd runs in the last four innings but none were impactful while Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Hafeez have blown hot and cold.

For Islamabad, things are looking brighter with Alex Hales joining the ranks. The batter scored 16-ball 34 to clear his intention on arrival while Colin Munro has been in good touch but couldn't fire in the last game after recovering from a thumb injury.

Azam Khan has been the shining star of the team as he fired 72 not out to beat Karachi Kings on Friday night and found further support in Faheem Ashraf, who was promoted up the order with skipper Shadab Khan misfiring.

Asif Ali and Tom Curran provide further firepower down the order. Curran has been crucial with the ball too with eight wickets as join top wicket-taker of the team. Senior pacer Hasan Ali showed up bit late and has now eight wickets in four games.

There's a bit of concern over the form of Rumman Raees, who hasn't really been an impact player off late.
