Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan accuses him of match-fixing, files complaint against India pacer

Bengaluru, March 9: Levelling another serious accusation against her husband, India pacer Mohammed Shami's wife Hasin Jahan has now claimed that the cricketer was even involved in match-fixing. The latest salvo comes two days after Hasin Jahan accused the Bengal pacer of having multiple illicit affairs outside marriage and even subjecting her to domestic violence after she learnt about it and confronted her husband.

In an interview to ABP News, Jahan alleged that Shami took money from a Pakistani woman by the name of Alishba under the influence of England-based businessman Mohammed Bhai.

"If Mohammed Shami can cheat me then he can cheat the county as well. He accepted money from a Pakistani girl named Alisbah in Dubai. He agreed to accept it after the insistence of England-based Mohammed Bhai. I have proof," she was quoted as saying.

FIR lodged against Shami:

Earlier on Thursday (March 8), Jahan lodged a written complaint with the police against the cricketer, alleging domestic violence and infidelity. Hasin submitted a written complaint to Kolkata Police Joint CP (Crime) Praveen Tripathi who said that it would be treated as an FIR.

"We have received a complaint from the cricketer's wife where she has alleged physical and mental torture by him. We are yet to decide on which sections a case can be started," he told reporters.

After meeting Tripathi, Hasin said she has described her ordeal to him and the officer promised proper action in the case.

"I have met the officer and told him everything about how I have been tortured by Shami. I have also told him about his multiple sexual partners despite being married to me," Hasin said.

The UP-born pacer, who plays for Bengal, got married to Jahan in 2014.

Jahan took to her Facebook account on Tuesday (March 6) where she shared Shami's images with some women, whom she termed as the cricketers' girlfriends. She went on revealing the names and mobile numbers of several girls, who according to her were chatting with her cricketer husband and sharing their pictures with him. She even shared the screenshots of some intimate chats on the mobile phone, which she alleged occurred between Shami and those girls.

27-year-old India cricketer's BCCI contract has already been withheld by the board after the allegations of his wife cropped up. But the sensational allegations of match-fixing might just increase the trouble for the Bengal pacer as the issue is getting murkier with every passing day.

However, Shami had categorically rejected his wife's accusations and claimed that she has lost her mental balance.

"She has lost her mental stability. She has to prove all the allegations made against me. If I have tortured her then she needs to prove it." said Shami addressing a press conference.

"I don't know what she is up to. She needs to explain what has changed so much in these few days. She is suddenly levelling all these accusations on me. She is accusing of harassment. She is even accusing me of match-fixing. I think she has lost her mental balance or it might be her game plan to sabotage my career."
