  • This will be the 47th meeting between New Zealand and South Africa in men's Tests and the Black Caps will be searching for back-to-back wins against the Proteas for the first time in the history of the fixture after logging an innings and 276-run win in the first Test of this series (February 2022).
  • New Zealand are on the cusp of their first ever men's Test series win against South Africa having drawn three and lost 12 series against them prior; a win in this Test would be just the second time that the Black Caps have won multiple games in a Test series against the Proteas (February 1962).
