There we go, Wagner completes an outstanding spell and leads his team off the field to rapturous applause. Gabriel is eventually sucked into a prod away from his body and a healthy edge is easily swallowed at second slip.
What an extraordinary innings that was. At one stage this morning, Kane Williamson might just have been questioning whether he made the right decision at the toss but he'll be having no such thoughts now as he straps on the pads. The tourists were coasting along with the pitch looking flat, but then Neil Wagner changed everything. The left-arm quick steamrollered the tourists in a devastating display of short pitched bowling, ripping through them with a career best 7/39. Twice he was on a hat-trick as the West Indies were left clueless camped out on the back foot. The visitors will need to come out all guns blazing with the ball in order to haul themselves back into the contest, so it should be more compelling cricket after the short break.

West Indies batting like they did in the first innings today. A number a soft dismissals put an end to their hopes of pulling off a miracle. New Zealand were just far too good for them over the four days. Disappointing for the Windies fans though, as they showed good resilience yesterday, but seemed to just throw it all away today. Neil Wagner taking seven-for on day one is the standout, but credit must go to the two maiden centurions in Colin de Grandhomme and Tom Blundell. So the Kiwis go 1-0 up in the two match series. Can they make it 2-0 in Hamilton? Or will the Windies turn it around? Find out when the second Test begins on Sunday.

Not out given by the umpire though, it was heading past leg stump.
