OUT! Run Out. Shaheen Afridi to Abu Jayed. In-swinging length ball, down leg side on the back foot working, to mid on, direct hit by Abbas. Oh dear, village cricket from Abu Jayed. He wanders from the crease and turns his back on the ball, finding himself a couple of inches short as the throw from Abbas flattens middle stump. I have no idea what he was thinking there, absent minded stuff from the Bangladesh bowler to end the innings.

Azhar Ali's decision to bowl first this morning has been fully vindicated as Pakistan have bowled Bangladesh out for just 233. Mohammad Mithun made a battling fifty for the tourists but too many others got starts and then gave their wickets away in a soft fashion. Shaheen Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 4/53 in a skilful display.

  • 82.4

Shaheen Afridi to Abu Jayed. In-swinging length ball, down leg side on the back foot working, hit pad to short leg for no runs, fielded by Ali.

  • 82.3

Shaheen Afridi to Abu Jayed. Length ball, to leg on the front foot driving, to mid off for no runs, fielded by Ali.

  • 82.2

  • 82.1

Shaheen Afridi to Abu Jayed. In-swinging yorker, to leg on the front foot working, inside edge to silly mid off for no runs, fielded by Afridi.

  • 81.6

Naseem Shah to Ebadat Hossain. Length ball, off stump no foot movement defending, to silly mid on for no runs, fielded by Ali.

  • 81.5

Naseem Shah to Ebadat Hossain. Back of a length, middle stump on the back foot glancing, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Rizwan.

  • 81.4

  • 81.3

Naseem Shah to Ebadat Hossain. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Rizwan.

  • 81.2

OUT! Caught. Naseem Shah to Mohammad Mithun. Seaming in back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot defending, Gloved to wicketkeeper, by Rizwan. Prolonged appeal, Pakistan are convinced they have their man. The umpire isn't too sure and eventually Azhar asks for a review. Naseem got it to jag back prodigiously from the surface to cut Mithun in half and replays show it lightly brushed the glove on the way through. Rizwan scooped it up just above the turf and the hosts can celebrate. Three correct reviews now made by Azhar today.

  • 81.1

FOUR! Naseem Shah to Mohammad Mithun. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Incredible batting, technically pure and gorgeously aesthetic. Mithun is really enjoying himself out there.

  • 80.6

OUT! Bowled. Shaheen Afridi to Rubel Hossain. In-swinging length ball, middle stump on the front foot driving, missed to. Cleaned him up, that was far too good for Rubel who was attempting a rather ambitious booming drive down the ground. Lovely hooping inswing with the second new ball and it soars straight through the gate to make a mess of the stumps.

  • 80.5

Shaheen Afridi to Rubel Hossain. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Rizwan.

  • 80.3

Shaheen Afridi to Rubel Hossain. In-swinging length ball, down leg side on the front foot working, hit pad to short leg for no runs, fielded by Ali.

  • 80.2

APPEAL! Shaheen Afridi to Rubel Hossain. In-swinging length ball, to leg on the front foot defending, inside edge to silly mid on for no runs, fielded by Ali, appeal made for L.B.W. Hopeful appeal, not much going for it.

  • 80.1

NEW BALL. Shaheen Afridi to Rubel Hossain. In-swinging length ball, down leg side on the front foot glancing, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Rizwan.

  • 79.6

SIX! Yasir Shah to Mohammad Mithun. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control over long off for 6 runs. Wow, that's come right out of the screws and flown all the way 20 rows back. Glorious hitting, he is going up the gears with not much support remaining.

  • 79.5

FOUR! Yasir Shah to Mohammad Mithun. Leg spinner back of a length, off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Fractionally short and that is all Mithun needs to unleash a powerful swipe. That takes him past fifty, it's been a really valuable knock for the visitors.

  • 79.4

  • 79.1

Yasir Shah to Rubel Hossain. Leg spinner yorker, middle stump on the front foot defending, to short leg for no runs, fielded by Ali.

  • 78.6

Haris Sohail to Mohammad Mithun. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to extra cover for no runs.

  • 78.5

OUT! Caught. Haris Sohail to Taijul Islam. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to mid off, by Shah. A rush of blood from Taijul, there was absolutely no need for a shot like that with the light closing in. Looking to slam the ball over the top, it dips on him and balloons high into the air. Yasir keeps his eye on it all the way, out of the sunlight and into the shadows as Bangladesh lose their seventh wicket.

  • 78.4

Haris Sohail to Taijul Islam. Stock length ball, off stump on the front foot defending, back to bowler for no runs, fielded by Sohail.

  • 122.5

OUT! Run Out. Rubel Hossain to Naseem Shah. Short, outside off stump on the back foot Fended, Spliced to gully, direct hit by Hassan. Sharp thinking by the fielder and Naseem's foot is half an inch above the turf. Saif has a big smile on his face, now he can think about his batting.

Pakistan have been bowled out for 445. They will have been hoping for more than that when they arrived at the ground this morning but Bangladesh have been disciplined and skilful to limit the lead to 212 runs. It's still a mighty deficit so the tourists will have to bat much better than they did in the first innings. Haris Sohail made an attractive 75, meanwhile Abu Jayed and Rubel Hossain shared six wickets between them.

  • 122.4

Rubel Hossain to Naseem Shah. Half volley, off stump on the front foot flick, to deep square leg for 2 runs, fielded by Chowdhury.

  • 121.4

APPEAL! Taijul Islam to Naseem Shah. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Das, appeal made for Stumped. Liton tries a cheeky stumping, waiting for the batsman to raise his back foot, but he can't get the timing right.

  • 121.3

OUT! Caught. Taijul Islam to Haris Sohail. Stock length ball, down leg side down the track Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Iqbal. He's picked out the man in the deep, Haris has to go. Looking to clear the fence for his third six of the day, the ball dipped on him and skewed off the inner half of the blade. Tamim barely had to budge and pouched it chest high with the fingers pointing up. The end is in sight for Bangladesh's fielders.

  • 121.2

Taijul Islam to Haris Sohail. Stock ball half volley, to leg down the track pushing, back to bowler for no runs, fielded by Islam.

Abu Jayed c Asad Shafiq b Yasir Shah 3 (9)

OUT! Caught. Yasir Shah to Abu Jayed. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, top edge in the air uncontrolled to short third man, by Shafiq. Filthy swipe, it balloons straight up and Shafiq has a safe pair of hands. Pakistan complete a very impressive victory.

A clinical Pakistan performance has resulted in an innings and 44 run victory over Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Their bowlers got things rolling on the opening day, maintaining consistency to keep pressure on the touring batsmen despite fairly placid conditions. Shaheen Afridi bagged four wickets and then it was all about Shan Masood and Babar Azam. A pair of classy centuries gave the hosts a massive first innings lead and even an impressive effort from the Tigers on Sunday wasn't enough to bring them back into contention. Naseem Shah provided the moment of the match with a sublime hat-trick, delivering reverse swing at high pace in front of a jubilant crowd. Yasir Shah put the cherry on top of the cake with four wickets of his own, completing the win on the morning of Day Four. There is a long break now before the Second Test in April, so attention will turn to the PSL for Pakistan while Bangladesh will be heading back home to play Zimbabwe.

Liton Das lbw b Yasir Shah 29 (59)

OUT! L.B.W. Yasir Shah to Liton Das. Leg spinner half volley, to leg on the front foot sweeping, hit pad to. That looks very close, too full to sweep and the ball skids underneath Liton's bat. As soon as the umpire says not out Pakistan want to review it. Ball tracking shows why they were so excited, it's stone dead and Liton has to go. Yasir enjoyed that one, he was one step ahead of the batsman and got his man. Just one wicket left now.

SIX! Yasir Shah to Liton Das. Leg spinner length ball, off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, well timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Rubel Hossain lbw b Mohammad Abbas 5 (26)

OUT! L.B.W. Mohammad Abbas to Rubel Hossain. Reverse Swing-In length ball, outside off stump on the back foot working, hit pad to. Abbas strikes, Rubel's resistance is ended. The fast bowler was beginning to frustrate Pakistan but now Abbas has found a way through. It seemed as though he was beaten by the length, playing back when coming forward would have been the better option. Some hoop back into the right-hander and it's a simple one for the umpire. Two more needed now for Pakistan.

Drinks are on the field and they will taste sweet for the hosts. They are on the verge of a massive victory. Liton Das might have to try and cut loose with not much batting left to come.

  • 57.4

Mohammad Abbas to Rubel Hossain. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, to cover for no runs.
