Pakistan close out their innings on 219-9 which looks under-par but after the start they got just batting out the 50 overs was a good effort. Credit has to go to Babar Azam (101) and Shadab Khan (52 not out) for their 109 run partnership which raised Pakistan from a dismal score to a challenging one which will require Sri Lanka to bat well to chase down. This isn't the 280 pitch that everybody was expecting at the beginning of the game.

Swung away but skewed off the splice to gift the fielder a simple catch. Very close to being a waist high no-ball but the third umpire says it's ok. Gamage has now picked up four wickets with a chance for his maiden five wicket haul.

Top work from the fielder in the deep. He was aware of which end to throw at and hit the stumps to leave Hasan Ali just short. The fielding coach will be very impressed with that effort.

A very tired shot from Babar and he can't quite find the maximum. Down the throat of the fielder at long on who makes the catch look very simple. He definitely deserves a rest after that innings.

Pakistan get the win in the end. Gamage hustled for the second run but Raees throws a bullet from the deep and hits the stumps, leaving the batsman just short. Athough it was close as to whether Sarfraz had interfered with the bails before the ball hit, but it was decided that he hadn't.
Both sides had a chance at the halfway stage and that remained the same throughout the whole innings. Pakistan though had the upper-hand at 93-7 but then came a fantastic partnership between Upul Tharanga and Jeffrey Vandersay. That kept the visitors in the game but Pakistan knew one wicket was all they needed to get back into it and that's what happened once Vandersay fell. Tharanga tried all he could but he couldn't get his team over the line, even though he was the first Sri Lankan to carry his bat in an ODI. Spin was the key for Pakistan in the end with them as a group taking five wickets and keeping the pressure on in the middle overs.
All eyes will now be on the next game at this same ground on Wednesday with Sri Lanka needing to win the rest of the games to take the series. See you then.
