Peshawar Zalmi injury update, key players in PSL 2023
No new injury has been reported from Peshawar Zalmi for the match but the side will be worried about the form of their two openers, including skipper Babar Azam. The captain has scored 0 and 7 in his last two innings and has slumped to the 10th spot in top run-getters for the season with 178 runs in eight innings.
His opening partner Mohammad Haris has not scored any runs in the last two innings with back-to-back ducks.
Peshawar Zalmi sweat over the form of top-order batters
There's concern regarding talented Saim Ayub's form too as the youngster has fired two half-centuries in five innings but his remaining three innings just saw four runs, making him an unreliable pick for Dream11.
Below him at No.4, Tom Kohler-Cadmore is showing much more consistency with the bat as the Englishman scored back-to-back half-centuries and has been important to Peshawar's play-off ambitions.
Young talents improve Zalmi's squad strength
Haseebullah Khan has further strengthened the middle order as he fired a 29-ball 50 in his first appearance for Zalmi.
Down the order, Rovman Powell has continued his fine form with a spitfire 34-ball 64 and has contributed 143 runs in five outings with the bat at No. 6.
Like Haseebullah, Aamer Jamal was another impact addition to the playing 11 as he contributed a 5-ball 14 at No. 7 and then took 3/43 in his maiden outing of the season. His performance allowed Zalmi to look beyond James Neesham as far as all-rounders are concerned.
Afghan duo gives Zalmi's bowling some respite.
Among bowlers, young Afghan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai made an impact on arrival as well with a solid bowling spell of 3/28.
He and Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who took 2/28 after being handed his first game, have been a much-needed addition to playing 11 as Zalmi's bowling has been uninspiring for the larger part of the season.
Before these two, the likes of Salman Irshad, Shaad Masood, Usman Qadir were reshuffled into the line-up and failed to impress with inconsistent bowling.
Senior pacer Wahab Riaz also went back to being wicketless (0/36) after taking 2/45 in the game prior and those two dismissals are all he has in the last five bowling spells.

Lahore Qalandars injury update, key players
Things are going as per plan for Lahore Qalandars are there are no fresh injury concerns for the table toppers.
However, much like Zalmi, they would like to see their openers get back among runs as both Fakhar Zaman and Mirza Tahir Baig haven't fire in two games.
Zaman, who has slammed the most sixes (17) this PSL, scored just 0 and 4 in his last two innings while Baig scored 17 and 2 respectively.
Shafique establishes himself at No. 3
Youngster Abdullah Shafique has made the No. 3 position his with 183 runs in last four games. He has scored 48, 15, 45 and 75 so far. Wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings is also making good impact at No. 4 with a half century in the last game.
The knock came after he scored just two in the innings before but had the confidence of the captain with quickfire knocks of 47 and 33 since inclusion.
All-rounders Sikandar Raza, David Wiese and Hussain Talat provide further firepower down the order with Raza a man fans like to depend on when and if the top-order misfires.
Raza scored a memorable 34-ball 71 against Quetta and then contributed an 8-ball 14 against Multan in the slog overs. The Zimbabwean is often asked to bowl as well and the spinner has delivered four wickets in 10 overs he has been asked to bowl.
Namibian Wiese has more trust of the captain as he picked seven wickets so far at a strike rate of 12.
Shaheen Afridi goes wicketless in three games
Shaheen Afridi must be happy with his captaincy but he can't be too pleased with his bowling as he took no wickets in three games. However, he did take a five-for before that and it came against Peshawar Zalmi as well.
Haris Rauf has picked up the pace during Afridi's dry spell with five wickets in the last three games, including season-best of 3/22 against Quetta Gladiators.
Young pacer Zaman Khan is the team's second-highest wicket-taker with seven scalps in as many games but has remained an understudy to the two senior pacers.
Rashid Khan takes charge of Qalandars bowling
However, amid Qalandars pacers' not-so-impressive show, Afghan spinner Rashid Khan has taken over the job of taking wickets with seven scalps in three games, including a match-winning spell of 3/15 against Multan Sultans.

Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars pitch report PES vs LAH
Rawalpindi's Pindi Stadium pitch is getting slower than before with pacers with variation are making batters hard to hit the ball around while spinners have started to feel comfortable on the pitch. Anything above 180 would be a task for a side to chase unless dew comes into play later on in the second innings.
