Saim made his Twenty20 debut for Quetta Gladiators in the 2021 Pakistan Super League where his performance was below par because of which he was dropped from the squad in the following season. Saib showed his true class and made a great comeback in February 2023, while playing for Peshawar Zalmi during the 2023 PSL. Saim Ayub continues to make his mark in the PSL 2023 seasons with consistent performances for Peshawar Zalmi alongside players like Babar Azam. In March 2022, he made his List A debut for Sindh in the 2021–22 Pakistan Cup and in September 2022, he made his first-class debut for Sindh in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022/23. In December 2022, alongside fast bowler Ihsanullah and batter Haseebullah Khan, Saim Ayub was one of the three youngsters selected to be included in the national squad for the second Test match of the New Zealand series in Karachi, so they could get some international exposure and see the dynamics of the dressing room. Saim Ayub was named in Pakistan's Twenty20 International squad for the series against Afghanistan in March 2023. He made his T20I debut in the first match of the series on March 24, 2023. He produced some classic shots and made his presence felt in this series. On 20th November 2023, he was also selected in Pakistan's test squad for a test match series in Australia. With notable performances in the PSL and international outings, Saim Ayub emerges as a promising talent poised for further success on the global cricket stage. 2024 proved to be a vital year in Ayub’s life as he made his Test debut in January against Australia and after a topsy-turvy season, he also went on to make his ODI debut against the same side and made valuable contributions to help Pakistan win an ODI series in Australia since 2002. He then went on to score his maiden ODI ton in December of 2024 against South Africa in another ODI series that Pakistan were able to clinch away from home.
