OUT! Run Out. Moeen Ali to Axar Patel. Off break length ball, middle stump on the back foot working, to mid on for 1 run, fielded by Southee, by Ali. That ends a dismal innings from Kings XI. The third run out for them tonight. Axar tucks it into the legside, the second was probably on, but Rajpoot has the wrong technique when running his bat in. The blade was in the air as the bails were removed, so they finish on 88 all out.

RCB couldn't have wished for much more when they elected to bowl first. A tiny ground to chase just 89 runs on. They should have no problems getting there, and will want to really up that net run rate whil doing it. Kings XI have it all to do in the field. Can they salvage some pride?

OUT! Run Out. Moeen Ali to Mohit Sharma. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, to mid on, fielded by de Villiers, by Ali. Horrendous running. Mohit nudges it past AB at short mid wicket, and there is an easy single on. Sharma takes forever before deciding to set off for the run though, and de Villiers has the time to fire it back to the non-striker's and leave the batsman short of his ground. This is a woeful display with the bat by the home side.

OUT! Caught. Umesh Yadav to Andrew Tye. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge to wicketkeeper, by Patel. Tye goes now. Tries to take on the short ball, but gets the thinniest of top edges through to the keeper. Tye took too long to review the decision so has to walk off, but it didn't matter anyway. A clear spike on Snicko. Kings XI are in disarray.

OUT! Run Out (Sub). Moeen Ali to Ravichandran Ashwin. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot pushing, to cover, by Patel. It goes from bad to worse. The captain runs himself out. Prodded into the offside, Ashwin sets off for a quick single, but Axar sends him back. He is too committed though, and the Kings XI skipper cannot make it back in time. The sub fielder swoops in to fling it to the keeper, and he is well short of his ground.

  • 11.5

OUT! Caught. Moeen Ali to Aaron Finch. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket, by Kohli. Finch falls to the trap set by Kohli. Moeen kept tossing it up and inviting the big shot. He ends up mis-hitting and it skews off the inner half into the hands of Kohli at deep mid wicket. An ulgy hack, and a poor way to go. Kings XI are in all sorts of trouble.

FREE HIT. FOUR! Ankit Rajpoot to Virat Kohli. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, top edge in the air uncontrolled past fine leg for 4 runs. Kohli flaps at the short ball, and gets a fortuitous top edge over the keeper's head to finish off the match.

That is what you call a hammering. Kings XI fell apart as soon as KL Rahul and Chris Gayle were gone. The batsmen were atrocious for the home side, and RCB were lethal when they saw a weakness. Nothing the bowlers could do in defending 88, but Virat Kohli and Parthiv Patel cruised to victory in style. That leaves the battle for a top four spot in an interesting place. Just two points seperate third and seventh. Tomorrow's IPL action has KKR taking on Rajasthan. Join us then.
