They reached 50 in the Powerplay but had already lost three wickets, leaving them on the back foot early. As the asking rate climbed, wickets continued to tumble, but debutant V Hari Ragavendra stood tall amid the chaos, waging a lone battle and bringing up a maiden fifty. With little support around him, he carried the fight deep before agonisingly falling two runs short of a hundred on 98. A star may well have been unearthed here.

Gillies complete hat-trick wins - Chepauk Super Gillies have made it three wins in a row with a dominant display to sign off the Dindigul leg in style. They head into their home leg with momentum firmly on their side, while the victory also lifts them into the top four and makes them the first side to defeat Siechem Madurai Panthers this season. For the Panthers, it is a rare stumble in what has otherwise been an excellent campaign, and they will hope this remains just a blip rather than the start of a slide.
