Erik Shoji Biography

Erik Shoji pursued higher education in Human Biology at Stanford University in the United States. During his time at Stanford, he achieved remarkable success in volleyball. He was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American first team for four consecutive years from 2009 to 2012. In 2009, he also received the AVCA Newcomer of the Year award.

International Debut and Achievements

Shoji made his international debut in 2013, representing the United States. He has since become an integral part of the national team. In 2015, he was named Best Libero at the World Cup in Japan, where the US team emerged victorious.

Professional Career

After graduating from Stanford in 2012, Shoji moved to Europe to pursue a professional volleyball career. He played for clubs in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Russia. His brother Kawika Shoji played a crucial role in his decision to move overseas. Erik currently plays for Fakel Novy Urengoy in Russia.
