Matt Anderson Biography

Anderson pursued higher education in Human Movement Studies at Pennsylvania State University. His passion for volleyball grew stronger during his high school years. He now plays as an opposite spiker for Sir Safety Conad Perugia in Italy.

International Debut and Achievements

Anderson made his international debut in 2008, representing the United States. His career highlights include winning a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2019 Nations League.

He has also been named Male Indoor Player of the Year by USA Volleyball multiple times between 2012 and 2019. In 2018, he was recognised as the Best Opposite Hitter at both the World Championships and the Nations League.

Anderson is married to Jackie and has a son named Jamie, born in 2020. He enjoys sports, cars, and fashion. His sisters Joelle and Amy have also played volleyball at the university level in the United States.
