There might not be a five-wicket haul for Wagner but he gets involved in the final dismissal with a handy catch on the boundary edge. Lyon picked out the only person around the corner and Australia are all out for 467. About par on this ground in the recent years but that doesn't mean this is an easy wicket. Australia had to grind it out early on before allowing themselves to play their shots. Travis Head took full advantage of this with a marvellous century while Paine, Smith and Labuschagne all passed fifty.
Once again it has been Neil Wagner who was the stand-out bowler. A fine effort which reaped rewards of 4-83 from his 38 overs. Without him his team could have been in deep trouble.

New Zealand have been bundled out for 148 giving Australia a commanding lead of 319. Warner and Burns charge off the field which suggests that the hosts will not be enforcing the follow-on, instead they will give their bowlers a chance to rest up. They deserve it as well because they have been phenomenal today. Cummins lead the way with 5/28, backed up expertly by Pattinson and Starc. Only Latham was able to resist for a long period of time for the Black Caps, they are deep in trouble now.

Australia have beaten New Zealand by 247 runs in Melbourne to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The hosts got ahead in the contest thanks to a quality century from eventual Player of the Match Travis Head, along with a trio of handy half centuries to help them to an imposing first innings total. In response, the Black Caps were blown away by the incredible Pat Cummins leaving the result all but certain. Tom Blundell made a superb ton to defy the Aussies today however he couldn't take the Kiwis to Day Five, despite their fantastic support in the stands. Special mention also to James Pattinson who was fired up in both innings on his return to the side, bowling some ferocious spells on his home ground.
