  • 19.6

Kane Richardson to Lasith Malinga. Half volley, outside off stump no foot movement driving, inside edge to short leg for 1 run, fielded by Richardson.

Much better performance from the Sri Lankans tonight and they have posted a decent total of 142-6. Kusal Perera was the main scorer with a half-century to his name while there were some lusty blows at the end from Bhanuka Rajapaksa to give them some momentum going into the next innings. Australia will still back themselves to chase this down with David Warner in terrific form at the top.

FOUR! Nuwan Pradeep to David Warner. Slower ball full toss, down leg side on the front foot flick, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs.

This almost sums up the series for Sri Lanka. Juicy full toss to Warner which he clips around the corner to the fence. He finishes on 57 not out and ends unbeaten in the whole series. Along with Aaron Finch they got Australia off to a flying start which enabled the rest of the innings to go smoothly without any dramas, even when the odd wicket fell.
Plenty of work for Sri Lanka to do in this format while Australia will hope to carry on their form when they welcome Pakistan to these shores.
