OUT! Caught. Kagiso Rabada to Mohammad Saifuddin. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket, by Paterson. Looking to repeat the dose but this time a thick top edge is gobbled up by a back-pedalling Paterson to give Rabada his fourth scalp of the innings.
278/7 represents a decent effort by Bangladesh, and they have Mushfiqur Rahim to thank for getting them there. The diminutive wicketkeeper was keen to play his shots from the start and constantly proactive at the crease. His fifth career ODI century is the first by a Bangladesh player against South Africa, and has also helped them to achieve their highest ODI total against the Proteas. Kagiso Rabada was the pick for the hosts, nipping in with some late wickets to return figures of 4/43.

Another sublime stroke by Mushfiqur, he suspects the bowler will aim for a yorker so decides a scoop over short fine leg is the way to go. His life is made a little easier as Phehlukwayo overpitches, so the juicy full toss just needs a bit of willow to divert it to the fence.

Rabada has three wicket now.

Wacked through mid wicket, de Kock finishes the demolition job in suitable style. What a runchase, what a partnership. Amla and de Kock embrace after a record-breaking day in Kimberley.
At the halfway point today, it seemed as though Bangladesh were in with a chance of getting some revenge over South Africa after the humiliating Test series. Mushfiqur Rahim played a high class knock, becoming the first Bangladesh batsman to score a century against the Proteas in ODIs. Quinton de Kock and Hashim Amla had other plans though, and put on an exhibition in ODI batting to make 282 without loss. The former was at his destructive best, peppering the boundary at all parts of the ground in making a dominant 168 not out. The latter was forced to play second fiddle, but that suited the understated right-hander whose workmanlike 110 not out was equally pleasing to view. Records tumbled with regularity towards the end and it was tough to keep up with them all. South Africa's highest ODI partnership for any wicket and the highest total to be chased down without loss were just two of the highlights today in Kimberley. What a statement by the hosts, really laying down the marker for the rest of the series which continues on Wednesday from Paarl.
