Bopanna is right-handed and has been coached by Zeeshan Ali at the national level and Scott Davidoff since 2012. Injuries and Challenges

Bopanna has faced several injuries throughout his career. In September 2022, a knee injury caused him to miss a Davis Cup tie against Norway. In 2019, a shoulder injury forced him to withdraw from a Davis Cup tie against Pakistan. He also suffered a minor shoulder injury at Wimbledon in 2018 and had to withdraw from the tournament. In 2009, he was sidelined by a knee injury for three months.

Bopanna's career is decorated with numerous awards. In 2018, he was named Sports Icon of the Year at the Indian Oil Sports Conclave. He received the ATP Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year award in 2010. In 2005, he was presented with the Eklavya Award for outstanding sporting performance by the government of Karnataka.

At age 43 years and 14 days, Bopanna became the oldest tennis player to win an ATP Masters 1000 title. He achieved this feat in men's doubles alongside Matthew Ebden at the 2023 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, USA.

Tennis Academy and Mentoring

In 2016, Bopanna founded the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Academy in Bengaluru. The academy offers coaching programmes to young players. Bopanna aims to create an international coaching experience that develops players' complete potential while encouraging them to enjoy the game.

Personal Life

Bopanna resides in Bengaluru with his wife Supriya and daughter Tridha. Supriya is a psychologist and has served as a director of the Rohan Bopanna Tennis Development Foundation. The birth of their daughter in 2019 motivated Bopanna to continue competing. He wants his daughter to watch him play.

Future Plans

Bopanna's family owns a coffee plantation in Kodagu. After retiring from tennis, he may take over running the plantation. In 2018, he launched his own coffee brand, Rohan Bopanna's Master Blend.
