Commentary

A clinical performance from Rajasthan Royals helped them beat Delhi Capitals by 15 runs at Wankhede Stadium.

Jos Buttler made a mockery of Delhi's bowling attack as the big-hitting English top-order batsman slammed his second IPL century on the bounce. The century came off just 57 balls for Buttler and he ended up scoring 116 off 65 to propel the Royals to 222 for 2 after being put in to bat first.

Chasing the highest total of the season, Delhi Capitals needed a special start from their in-form openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw but RR bowlers kept the duo calm in the powerplay.

Once Warner was dismissed cheaply by Prasidh Krishna, Shaw and Rishabh Pant kept Delhi's hopes alive but they also perished in middle overs.

DC batters put up a sensational effort in the end as Rovman Powell hit three back-to-back sixes in the final over bowled by Obed McCoy but they could only muster 207 for 8.

With this win, RR climbed to the top of the points table with 10 points and a superior net run rate. DC, on the other hand, suffered their fourth defeat but remain static at sixth position.
