Commentary

  • End of Over 20
Over 20. 13 runs. Bowler: Moeen Ali. Kolkata Knight Riders: 203/5 (rr 10.15)

SIX! Moeen Ali to Nitish Rana. Off break half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control over long off for 6 runs.

RCB were made to sweat but they have just about held on at Eden Gardens after a sensational display of hitting from Andre Russell and Nitish Rana. KKR fell just 10 runs short of the massive target, paying the price for their sluggish start but pushing the visitors right until the end. Moeen Ali had to be cool and collected at the death, coming on to bowl for the first time and defending 24 runs after his earlier swashbuckling batting had sparked RCB into life. Virat Kohli's fifth IPL century was a masterclass in strokeplay and meant KKR were always slightly behind the game. We've been treated to some outstanding entertainment tonight, let's hope for more of the same tomorrow when we have a double-header to look forward to.
