Born on 31st October 1998 Karan Sharma is a talented all-rounder who plays for Uttar Pradesh in the domestic circuit and Lucknow Super Giants in Indian Premier League. The Delhi-born cricketer is known for his elegant style of cricket and anchoring the inning with a controlled pace. He is also a handy spinner who can roll his arm over and bowl leg spin in the middle overs. He has the ability to outdo batsmen with some clever quick deliveries and potent googlies.
Karan Sharma started playing professional cricket in 2019 and in 2021 he managed to earn his debut for Uttar Pradesh. He made his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Uttar Pradesh in 2021. The same year he also played his first List A game before making his first-class debut the following year and captaining Uttar Pradesh in that game. The all-rounder since then has been impressive in the domestic tournaments which ultimately caught the eye of IPL franchises.
On the back of his all-around skills and good domestic records, he was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the IPL 2022 in the auction for his base price of Rs 20 Lakhs. He, however, could only play one game in his debut season. The Lucknow-based franchise however ahead of the 2023 edition chose to retain him for the following season with an opportunity to showcase talent once again in the grandest stage.
