Delhi, April 21: Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Delhi Daredevils by 6 wickets at the Firoz Shah Kotla Ground here on Monday to collect their third win in four matches. But the impressive victory was marred by the tragic death of Ankit Keshri, the 20-year-old cricketer who was injured during a club match on Friday and admitted to the hospital.

Players of both teams observed a minute silence in memory of Keshri before the match started. The giant screen on the ground also displayed pictures of the talented cricketer whose death had left the sports fraternity shocked.

Fans and officials in Delhi were haunted by the memory of Raman Lamba, the local cricketer who had suffered a fatal injury during a match in Dhaka in 1998 and passed away.

KKR captain Gautam Gambhir later regretted the shocking news and said he would like to meet Keshri's family and do something for them.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who paid a visit to Ankit's family, said the life finished even before it had started.
