Bengaluru, August 3: As its a boxing match, former multi-time champion Floyd Mayweather is the favorite for the blockbuster fight against Conor McGregor in the Showtime PPV on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
But now, it appears the boxing superstar could be prepared to level the playing field somewhat by fighting in 8 oz. gloves.

The duo had originally agreed to fight in the standard 10 oz. gloves for a super welterweight bout. This was seen as a disadvantage for the MMA fighter McGregor, who is used to fighting in 4 oz. UFC mitts.
The experts claimed the larger gloves would nullify the power behind the Irishman's famous left hook.
Mayweather took to Instagram and has stunned the fans by claiming he is now prepared to meet the Notorious one's initial demand and make it an 8 oz. contest.
When Mayweather initially hinted at the idea during the recent promotional media tour, McGregor replied: "Don't fool the public."
UFC owner, Dana White, has also said the weight of the gloves was one of the reasons for finalizing 'the big money fight'.
Mayweather said: "McGregor, let's fight in 8 oz. gloves. Don't believe what you hear in the media. Don't believe what you hear on blog sites. If it's not coming directly from me, then it's not true."
"I'm telling McGregor 'let's fight in 8 oz gloves'. McGregor can fight in any brand he prefers or chooses. I'll be wearing 8 oz. Grant gloves. Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I'm willing to accommodate. Let's give the boxing and MMA fans what they want to see."
Conor reverted back in his own style mocking the Money with an Instagram post of his own stating he will beat Mayweather, no matter the size of the gloves.
"Another handy 12 rounds today. We are prepared to destroy Floyd."
"Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz. I don't give a **** about the size of the glove."
"I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands."
McGregor still goes into the match as the underdog, but there's no doubt an 8 oz. contest suits the Irishman much better than a 10 oz.
