Bengaluru, August 7: In what was a truly unfortunate incident, the number one contender for the Raw Women's title, Bayley will miss Summerslam. She suffered a serious shoulder injury during her match against Nia Jax during the last episode of Raw.

The recovery from the injury could take more than six weeks, which potentially rules Bayley out of competion and as a result miss the Summerslam pay-per-view.

Bayley earned the championship match at Summerslam by winning a match against her best-friend, Sasha Banks, two weeks ago. The latter one was the favorite to come up as the winner. But, the hugger proved everyone wrong by overcoming the Boss and emerged the winner.

The injury sustained will force her to stay away from the WWE for quite a few weeks in the near future. WWE has not officially announced this yet. It is likely to be addressed officially in the upcoming episode of WWE Raw which will be aired from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.

The news around Bayley's injury have already hyped the show and will keep the fans on their toes. Meanwhile, the creative team has drawn backup plans for the Raw Women's Championship at Summerslam which will begin the show.

As revealed by 'The Dirty Sheets', Sasha Banks will replace Bayley for the contender's spot. A match between Sasha and Nia Jax might be arranged to declare the new challenger. The Boss will win it and go on to face Little Miss Bliss for the title at the biggest event of the summer.

The IWC might be happy with this spoiler since they were not happy at all with Bayley getting another shot at the title instead of Sasha who deserved another rematch at Summerslam. This started a major backlash against the fan-favorite Bayley putting her status in jeopardy.

So, this injury might turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Hugger. Being absent from the show might work in her favor as this will automatically generate sympathy among the fans.
