Manan Vohra IPL Profile

Manan Vohra is an Indian cricketer, who plays for Chandigarh in domestic cricket, and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. 

Born on 18 July 1993 in Chandigarh, Vohra is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler. A stylish batsman Vohra is known for his attacking instincts, mostly playing as an opener.

Vohra has a sporting lineage in his family. His grandfather, Y.P. Singh was a former Indian hockey player and is now the General Secretary of the Chandigarh Hockey Association. 

Initially, during childhood, he was inclined towards hockey as well. However, later continued with cricket. Vohra had good record in his younger days playing for Punjab. He played for almost every age group. He was part of the Indian under-13 squad for the Sharjah Cup, held in 2004. 

He regularly represented Punjab U-16, U-19, and U-22 teams. He also captained the Punjab U-19 side. He made his debut for his state in the Ranji Trophy in the 2011-12 season. One of his notable innings, domestically, came against Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy 2013-14 season where he smashed 187 with the help of 24 fours and 3 sixes.

Vohra's impressive display in the domestic circuit earned him a contract with Kings XI Punjab in the 2013 IPL. He made a significant impression over the first two seasons because of his shot-making skills. 

One of his best innings came against Sunrisers Hyderabad when he almost single-handedly led his team to victory with a 95-run knock after they were reduced to 84/6. However, they lost by just five runs at the need. But, since then he has struggled to make an impact in the competition. 

In 2018 he was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.1 crore, but was released by the franchise the next year after an underwhelming season. He played for Rajasthan Royals in the very next two seasons before he was bought by the Lucknow Super Giants in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.
