Rilee Rossouw IPL Profile

Rilee Roscoe Rossouw is an international South African cricketer, who was born on October 9, 1989, in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State Province, South Africa. Rilee is a left-handed batsman and right-handed off-break bowler. Rossouw made his first-class debut in November 2007 for Free State against Easterns and scored 83.

He first came to attention in the 2008 Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia. In his six tournament matches, he accumulated 136 runs at an average of 34. Rilee elevated his abilities to a completely new level and became the top run-scorer for the Eagles in the 2009–10 South African first-class tournament with 1,261 runs at an average of 57.61. 

Following the accomplishments at the domestic level, Rilee was called up to the national side in 2014. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in August 2014. A few months later, he made his Twenty20 International debut for South Africa against Australia in November 2014 and became the man of the match, scoring 78 off 50 balls. 

Notably, he earned a call-up for of South Africa's national squad in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, where Proteas reached the semifinals. Rossouw hit his first century in the same year as he scored 128 to take his side to a huge 439/2 against the West Indies in Johannesburg.

Rossouw became a man in demand in several T20 franchise tournaments and played in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Caribbean Premier Leagues. Although he joined the IPL 2011 season after being acquired by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), his debut had to wait for several seasons as the swashbuckling left-handed batter played his first IPL match in 2014 after the RCB retained him that season. 

The player, however, remained a utility player and appeared in just five games across 2014 and 2015 editions before being released by the side. His next stint at IPL came eight years later as Delhi Capitals acquired him for the 2023 IPL season due to his outstanding PSL and BPL achievements.
