Shakib Al Hasan IPL Profile

Shakib Al Hasan is an all-rounder who represents Bangladesh cricket team internationally. He is widely regarded as the finest cricketer to have ever been produced by Bangladesh and one of the best all-rounders of all time. He is a slow left-arm orthodox spinner and a left-handed batsman.

Shakib is quite proficient with the ball and is also an aggressive batsman making him quite successful in the shortest format of the game. He is ranked no. 1 all-rounder in ODI and T20I cricket in 2023. 

Shakib plays for Barishal in domestic cricket and has taken the most wickets in T20 World Cup. Shakib has had two spells with Kolkata Knight Riders in the past between 2011 and 2017 and was also on the books of KKR in 2021. He also featured for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League in 2018 and 2019. 

Apart from IPL, he has also played in Bangladesh Premier League, Sri Lanka Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, Big Bash League, Pakistan Super League, Global T20 Canada and Lanka Premier League. 

Born on 24 March, 1987, Shakib Al Hasan is 36 years of age ahead of the 2023 IPL season. He is is married to a Bangladeshi-American Umme Ahmed Shishir and is a holder of Green Card due to which he can live and work in the United States. 

His father Khondokar Masroor Reza was a footballer while his mother Shirin Reza is a housewife. Shakib has a daughter named Alayna Hasan Aubrey. In April 2020, Shakib and his wife were blessed with their 2nd baby girl- Errum- and in March 2021, the couple gave birth to their 3rd child and their first boy.

Shakib has a frame of 5 feet 7 inches and has a body weight of 62 kg. After missing out on the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League, Shakib was re-signed by the Kolkata franchise for the competition in 2023 for just Rs. 1.5 crore but he decided to pull out due to personal reasons.
