Subhranshu Senapati IPL Profile

Hailing from the eastern state of Odisha, Subhranshu Senapati is an Indian cricketer who represents his state team in the domestic circuit and Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League. Born on 30 December 1996, he is a middle-order batsman who can bowl medium pace if required. 

He started playing state-level cricket professionally in 2016 and made a name for himself in the shortest format of the game after guiding 'Chilika' - a team of Odisha Premier League-2 to victory. It got him promoted to the senior ranks and he immediately showed his worth in senior cricket. He made his maiden appearance in all other formats in domestic cricket in 2016.

He scored a first fifty against Saurashtra in the second innings of the second game of the season helping Odisha register a victory by 32 runs. He also later played a brilliant 76-run inning against a strong Delhi bowling attack that was spearheaded by the likes of Ishant Sharma.

But he first came into the limelight during the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season. Subhranshu scored 427 runs in six matches for Odisha and was their leading run-scorer. He maintained the same form in the following season and ended the campaign being their highest run-getter once again with 617 runs in nine matches. 

He continued the same scoring streak over the next few seasons and following his meteoric rise in domestic, he finally got a shot in Indian Premier League in 2022. Chennai Super Kings signed him for his base price of Rs 20 lakhs at the 2022 edition of the league. He did not play in any game in his debut campaign, however, was retained for the 2023 edition.
