Yash Dhull IPL Profile

Yash Dhull is an uncapped Indian cricketer who is a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm off-spinner. Dhull was born on November 11, 2002, in New Delhi and plays as an opening batsman for the Delhi cricket team in domestic cricket. Growing through the rank of Delhi cricket, Dhull represented the side at various age-group levels before making his Ranji debut.

Dhull, however, made himself a name before his senior domestic debut as he was selected as the captain of the India Under-19 team for the 2022 World Cup in the West Indies. He also led the Under-19 national side at the 2021 Asia Cup at the level in the UAE. India emerged triumphant in both marquee tournaments.

Dhull also memorably scored 110 in the semifinals of the Under-19 World Cup against Australia as India progressed to the finals. 'The Boys in Blue' was eventually defeated in the final, and Yash Dhull was subsequently named as captain of the ICC team of the tournament.

Less than a fortnight later, Yash Dhull made his first-class debut against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji trophy 2021-22. He made his maiden appearance special by scoring centuries in both the innings of the match. Dhull finished his first season with an average of nearly 120 while topping the run-chart as Delhi's highest run-getter (479 runs). Yash also scored double-hundred in that season against Chhattisgarh. He was also named as the captain of the side the following season.

Prior to his Ranji debut, the Delhi Capitals bought this local boy more than twice his base price (20 lakhs) after a short bidding war with Punjab Kings. Dhull, however, didn't play the subsequent IPL season as he washed his side, finished fifth from the dugout. His IPl debut came in 2023 against Mumbai Indians in defeat, with the young batter scoring just two runs in the middle-order. Making just four appearances in the season, Dhull had an unforgettable debut season, while Delhi Capitals were among the bottom dwellers at the point table.
